What is chiropractic?
What is Chiropractic?
Veterinary chiropractic is a specialised manual therapy focused on restoring normal mobility within the musculoskeletal system. The aim of treatment is to optimise the functioning of the nervous system and the body’s biomechanics.
The focus lies on identifying and correcting functional movement restrictions in the spine and limbs, known as vertebral subluxation complexes (VSCs). These may arise from trauma, tension (stress) or toxins. Treatment consists of adjustments: fast, controlled impulses that restore mobility and thereby support the body’s natural self-healing capacity.
Chiropractic care is successfully applied in cases of acute and chronic complaints, unexplained symptoms, and as part of prevention and performance enhancement, for example in sporting dogs. The approach is holistic, yet firmly grounded in anatomy, neurology and biomechanics.
The Chiropractic Programme
The Veterinary Chiropractic programme at Supple Spine Institute is specifically designed for veterinarians, veterinary physiotherapists and osteopaths who wish to deepen their knowledge and skills in this specialised form of manual therapy. Clinical reasoning is central to the programme, alongside the careful and professional application of chiropractic techniques.
At SSI, chiropractic is an independent, fully developed programme, offering both in-depth specialisation and broader professional scope within the treatment of animals.
